The Biodiversity and Conservation division as part of the Department of Planning and Environment is seeking an **Assistant Project Officer** to join the Threatened Species and Ecosystems team.

Work as part of the Communications and Partnerships team to help create and deliver engaging content and develop relationships that increase awareness and promote the work of the Saving our Species (SoS) program across several internal and external channels. This role will assist in the development and coordination of communication projects, and support the partnerships function to facilitate the state-wide delivery of the Saving our Species program.

This is an excellent opportunity for a budding communications professional to break into the NSW Government, and gain exposure to a range of threatened species projects.

**About you**

You will have good communication skills both written and verbal. You enjoy working as part of a broader team and can assist a dynamic team across a range of projects. You will also be comfortable working autonomously and making recommendations based on analysis.

You will provide project support and coordination activities to support the development and delivery of quality project outcomes.

**The successful applicant for this position will be required to**:

- Support the Saving our Species Communications & Partnerships team and respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Undertake research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs, podcasts, and awards entries.
- Assist the Communications team with management of the image & video library and content creation used across various channels.
- Assist in content reviews and audits of existing work and make recommendations for improvements.
- Understand digital and social media and be able to write content for different platforms.

**Essential requirements**
- Degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field.
