Overview

Urgent requirement of Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Contract - Canberra

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • At least five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the design, management, and maintenance of an internet gateway and/or large-scale data center networking environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Design of services utilizing F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems; design and deployment of network infrastructure including Cisco Data Center technologies (Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, Nexus switches); routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and IPS solutions; design and implementation of VPN technologies, email, and DNS (Infoblox) solutions.
  • Design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services; development and maintenance of system architecture and design documentation.
  • Knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual, and Essential Eight.

  • Estimated start date: Saturday, 01 November 2025
  • Initial contract duration: 12 Months
  • Extension term: Up to 24 Months (maximum)
  • Experience level: Senior - EL1 equivalent
  • Location: ACT
  • Working arrangements: Hybrid (minimum of 3 days per week)
  • Maximum hours: 40 hours per week
  • Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1
