Location: UNSW Kensington Campus (Hybrid Working). Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract (Parental Leave Cover). Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week). Salary: Level 7, $113,926 - $123,302 plus 17% superannuation plus leave loading.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver standard month-end and year-end financial reports and other relevant reporting to ensure data reported is accurate and deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide value-adding insights, accounting support and advice to internal and external stakeholders, including technical accounting assessments and proactive assessment and coordination of changes in upcoming accounting standards.
  • Maintain a broad, contemporary and substantial level of technical accounting knowledge, including Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations, and relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by providing accurate, timely responses to complex questions to ensure customer service standards are maintained or exceeded.
  • Recommend improvements to processes to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting and CA/CPA qualified, with demonstrated successful experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical capacity to resolve difficult issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant programs, and substantial experience with finance systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical accounting and Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations, with ability to provide required accounting support to stakeholders.
  • Understanding of financial risks and mitigating controls across end-to-end financial processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations and work collaboratively.
