Role Overview UMENCO is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for an Australian brand who design travel-inspired swimwear and resortwear.
The Financial Controller will play a pivotal leadership role at the core of the operations.
The successful talent will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance and clarity of all financial reporting while managing the end-to-end month-end close process and overseeing the internal finance team.
With a hands-on approach, the Financial Controller will deliver timely and reliable financial insights that drive informed decision-making across the business.
The successful talent will lead the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of P&L, balance sheets, reconciliations and management reports tailored to business needs.
In this role, the successful talent will also manage and mentor a small finance team, implementing clear processes, accountabilities and quality controls.
Daily and weekly financial operations – including accounts payable and receivable, payroll and adjustments – will fall under the Financial Controllers remit with the oversight ensuring consistency and accuracy.
A key part of this role will involve maintaining robust compliance and internal control frameworks.
This includes meeting all financial and tax obligations such as BAS, PAYG, superannuation and international tax requirements, while ensuring adherence to accounting standards and maintaining well-documented internal processes.
The successful talent will be responsible for delivering critical financial insights to senior leadership through regular reporting, cash flow forecasting and budgeting and forecasting cycles.
Additionally the Financial Controller will lead the finance function through systems and process improvements, including the implementation of new reporting tools, dashboards, or ERP platforms.
This role will collaborate with teams across the business to optimise finance, inventory and data workflows and support broader growth initiatives including international expansion.
