Job Description

The Financial Control Accounting Professional plays a pivotal role in delivering financial control and accounting support to the organization. This position requires preparing and delivering timely financial reports, as well as providing valuable insights and accounting support to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to ensure data is reported correctly and deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide accounting support and advice to internal and external stakeholders, including technical accounting assessments and proactive assessment and coordination of changes in upcoming accounting standards.
  • Maintain a broad, contemporary level of technical accounting knowledge, including Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations, and relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by providing accurate, timely responses to complex questions to ensure customer service standards are maintained or exceeded.

 

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting and CA/CPA qualified, with demonstrated successful experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical capacity to resolve difficult issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant programs, and substantial experience with finance systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical accounting and Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations, with ability to provide required accounting support to stakeholders.
  • Understanding of financial risks and mitigating controls across end-to-end financial processes.
