Through the merger of Bank Australia and Qudos Bank we're creating a better, stronger and more resilient bank for our customers and employees. As one company with two trusted brands, we're building on the strong foundations of our history and shared values as we bring together the best of both banks.

The Corporate Affairs Manager reports to the Head of Corporate Affairs and is responsible for managing the delivery of corporate affairs activity that supports the banks objectives. The role supports the bank to manage its brand and reputational opportunities and risks. The position is responsible for implementing the bank's corporate affairs plan, supporting issues and crisis management activity, the production of key corporate communications material, and delivering advocacy activity in line with the bank's purpose and values.

  • We have big plans to become Australia's leading purpose-driven bank.

  • Every role and person in our bank is essential to bringing our values, purpose and aspiration to life.
  • We offer flexible working options, competitive salary and 13% super.
  • Our staff have access to a range of meaningful benefits to support their physical and mental wellbeing including 24/7 free counselling, free flu vaccinations and discounted gym memberships.
  • We also support staff with study assistance, paid parental leave (regardless of gender), volunteer, bereavement, gender affirmation and family violence leave; and the opportunity for bonus annual leave.
  • We support our staff to grow their careers through learning and development and an organisational culture where we reward and recognise innovation and values, not long hours.
  • We are committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce that reflects the Australian community.
  • We care for a conservation reserve – where we work with key partner organisations to protect threatened species and involve staff in conservation.

What you will be doing

  • Support the Head of Corporate Affairs in delivering the Corporate Affairs Plan and advising on brand reputation, advocacy and thought leadership and media relations
  • Lead corporate communications for major initiatives including the annual Impact Report
  • Manage brand partnerships with purpose-aligned organisations and maintain key stakeholder relationships
  • Develop and implement media and public relations strategies, acting as the bank's media contact and coordinating media training
  • Develop and implement influencer engagement opportunities to promote the Bank Australia brand
  • Contribute to advocacy planning and strengthen the bank's thought leadership on impact priorities
  • Collaborate with marketing to align social media content and lead responses to reputational issues
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture

What you will bring

  • Extensive experience in corporate affairs, communications, stakeholder relations or a related field
  • Strong communication skills—written, verbal and interpersonal—with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels,
  • Proven experience in issues management, advocacy, and developing communications strategies in a corporate reputation context
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, social and environmental issues in a business setting
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, research, and problem-solving, with a strategic and analytical mindset
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and coaching others to success,
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, professional, collaborative and results-driven
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, business, public policy, social science or a related field
  • Commitment to Bank Australia's purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos.
