ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The role involves general bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll & superannuation, BAS compliance, financial reporting, and client interaction. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and support business decision-making through effective bookkeeping. This is an opportunity for someone to gain valuable experience in a fun and supportive work environment, while building a portfolio of high-value clients, and managing your own billings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

On a day-to-day basis, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for:

  • Keeping accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Regularly reconciling bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Managing invoices, payments, and collections to maintain positive cash flow.
  • Processing payroll accurately and on time, including managing superannuation contributions.
  • Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) to ensure timely and accurate reporting to the ATO.
  • Generating financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to assist in business decision-making.
  • Communicating effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored bookkeeping solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping qualification is desired; however, extensive relevant industry experience will also be considered
  • Previous experience using Xero accounting software is required

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficient in managing time and prioritising tasks in a high-pressured environment
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address client needs and concerns
