What does the job look like?

Linfox proudly provides critical logistics support to several of Australia's leading mining operations. Based at our Hazelmere site, we are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient loading of freight for our Fortescue Iron Ore contract. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a high-performing team to ensure all trailers are loaded in line with Linfox and customer requirements, fully manifested, and ready for scheduled departures. Your leadership will ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, mass and dimensional loading standards, DG compliance, and load restraint guidelines. This is a pivotal hands-on role, critical to maintaining safety, efficiency, and operational alignment. This role is available on a 7 day on, 7 day off roster.

Key Areas:

  • Promote and embed a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to Linfox safety systems, legislative obligations, and customer requirements
  • Lead and supervise loading teams to achieve freight dispatch KPIs, maximise payloads, and meet accuracy and compliance standards
  • Oversee trailer allocation and ensure efficient utilisation of fleet resources in coordination with the transport team
  • Maintain strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility and DG handling requirements
  • Foster team capability through training, coaching, and recognition of safe behaviour
  • Provide clear handovers to back-to-back supervisors and operations management to ensure seamless 24/7 operations
  • Drive continuous improvement in loading processes, load planning, and the use of SAP and other warehouse systems

We are looking for a proven operator with strong leadership and hands-on experience in freight loading, warehouse, or transport operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in operational accuracy, and have the confidence to lead teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers and contractors. You can demonstrate:

  • Solid supervisory or leadership experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations
  • High-level understanding of load restraint, mass/dimensional compliance, DG handling, and Chain of Responsibility
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in staff training, coaching, and performance management
  • Ability to build a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
  • SAP or warehouse system experience (desirable)
