Overview

Based at Hazelmere, Western Australia, the Operations Supervisor will oversee safe and efficient loading of freight for the Fortescue Iron Ore contract. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a high-performing team to ensure trailers are loaded per requirements, fully manifested, and ready for departures. This role follows a 7 days on / 7 days off roster.

Key responsibilities
  • Promote and embed a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to safety systems, legislative obligations, and customer requirements
  • Lead and supervise loading teams to achieve freight dispatch KPIs, maximise payloads, and meet accuracy and compliance standards
  • Oversee trailer allocation and ensure efficient utilisation of fleet resources in coordination with the transport team
  • Maintain strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility and DG handling requirements
  • Foster team capability through training, coaching, and recognition of safe behaviour
  • Provide clear handovers to back-to-back supervisors and operations management to ensure seamless 24/7 operations
  • Drive continuous improvement in loading processes, load planning, and the use of SAP and other warehouse systems
Are you the one? / Qualifications

We are looking for a proven operator with strong leadership and hands-on experience in freight loading, warehouse, or transport operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in operational accuracy, and have the confidence to lead teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers and contractors. You can demonstrate:

  • Solid supervisory or leadership experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations
  • High-level understanding of load restraint, mass/dimensional compliance, DG handling, and Chain of Responsibility
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in staff training, coaching, and performance management
  • Ability to build a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
  • SAP or warehouse system experience (desirable)
