Overview

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for quality, safety, and performance? We're looking for a Technical Supervisor to guide and mentor our skilled trades team on our Defence Maintenance Contract based at Palmer Barracks in Guildford. In this role, you'll be at the heart of service delivery—driving technical excellence, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of 10 skilled trade staff and apprentices
  • Allocate tasks and manage workflow in accordance with the End-to-End Maintenance Process
  • Provide expert technical guidance and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and technical investigations as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement and support professional development across the team
  • Collaborate with planners, schedulers, and Defence stakeholders to ensure operational excellence
  • Review time confirmations, leave applications, and performance metrics
Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated leadership in a workshop or maintenance environment
  • Experience using SAP and MS Office
  • Knowledge of WHS, quality assurance, and Defence compliance standards
  • Manual C-class driver's licence
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1). You must also be an Australian citizen to meet this requirement.
