What You'll Be Doing

You will form part of a multi-disciplinary care team, supporting the delivery of safe, patient-centered care to a diverse population. This role provides general assistance in wards, portering patients, cleaning duties and security duties as required under the direction of clinical staff.

Selection Criteria

  • Current NSW Security licence (Class 1A minimum) with ability to maintain the licence and current Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) First Aid Certificate, or the ability and willingness to obtain these within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to support person-centered care in a health care environment.
  • Experience working with diverse groups; friendly and respectful communication.
  • Physical capacity to perform duties including lifting and transferring patients.
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and aggression management.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and willingness to work a 24/7 roster.
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and Security Industry Act; ability to read and follow instructions and policies.
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence and ability to drive/travel as required; may involve long distances and overnight stays.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination

This is a Category 'A' position. All new employees must comply with NSW Health OASV policy PD2024_015, including proof of vaccination against influenza where applicable.
