Overview:

ISS STOXX is seeking a few full-time Research Assistants for the 2025 proxy season. This position will be based in Sydney and would mainly cover the China and Taiwan Market from March 10-June 13, 2025 (3 months).

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze corporate governance and financial information to process data and write research reports on publicly traded companies mainly in mainland China and Taiwan;
  • Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings of the companies mainly listed in stock exchanges in mainland China and Taiwan;
  • Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment, and shareholder issues gathered through research and potential engagement with company executives, institutional investors, and government/regulatory/listing authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate students majored in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics or any related fields, or equivalent experience;
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills in Chinese (both simplified and traditional) and English;
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment, as well as under tight deadlines;
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, have a keen sense of judgment, and be goal-oriented;
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks;
  • Proficiency in the use of web-based and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Passion for corporate governance research;
  • Experience and knowledge of corporate governance and proxy voting issues is preferred;
  • Eligibility to work is required;
  • Amenable to work on a hybrid work arrangement, 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
