Assistant Research Manager - Sensory Evaluation

At Benchmark, we're passionate about assisting our clients to achieve exceptional sensory results As a full-service specialist sensory research agency, we conduct sensory research to the highest standard for many of Australia's leading FMCG companies and international clients, across a diverse range of food and beverage categories.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Research Manager to become an integral part of our dynamic research team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain specialist research skills, with the potential to progress to Research Manager after a training period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Proposal Development: Collaborate with researchers to write comprehensive research proposals that meet client specifications.
  • Survey Design: Contribute to the design of effective surveys that gather meaningful data to drive insights.
  • Research Reporting: Prepare detailed research reports that present findings clearly and professionally.
  • Support Fieldwork Team: Ensure all necessary materials are organized and ready for implementation.
  • Client Support: Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide timely assistance throughout the research process.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Food Science, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field is essential.
  • Passion for Food: A strong interest in food and sensory experiences is crucial for this role.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate ideas and insights effectively.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Ability to think critically and find solutions to challenges that arise during research.
  • Strong Work Ethic: A 'can do' attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Eager to Learn: A curious mindset with a desire to learn and grow in the field of sensory research.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is required to ensure accuracy in all research outputs.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining good time management.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to start their career in sensory research or for individuals with prior experience as an Assistant or Research Manager in this field.
