Exide Technologies' Energy Solutions division is developing and manufacturing stationary energy storage batteries, from backup power to large-scale storage systems. Exide´s technology portfolio spans from multiple lead-acid over to lithium-ion technologies supporting the global energy transition and digitalization.

Exide's Motion division develops top-quality traction batteries and chargers for electric vehicles. Our innovative lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, power material-handling vehicles and robotics. We serve the OEMs, projects and the replacement market with our and our customer's top brands.

About the job:

Covering both Energy Solutions and Motion (Motive Power) sales in Adelaide, SA, at the earliest possible date we are looking for a: Sales Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, Energy Solutions Australasia your mission will be to achieve sales plans for the SA/NT region whilst enhancing the reputation of Exide Technologies as an ethical supplier of quality products. You will build strong customer relations with existing customers and expand the customer base.

What will your daily responsibilities include in this role?

  • Gain a thorough understanding of Exide's product offerings and the market within which they operate. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the SA/NT region to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identify new business development opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market share in the SA/NT region.
  • Lead SA/NT Energy Solutions and Motion sales with a clear purpose in line with the budget and region objectives and work collaboratively with all key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Provide technical and commercial assistance to all customers to guarantee all safety and performance regulations are met.
  • In time, develop and enhance your technical product knowledge across the major chemical systems offered by the company, including Exide's BESS offering. Develop a sound understanding of the basic functionality of said chemical systems.
  • Develop and optimise the current and future business channels within the Energy Solutions/BESS and Motion SA/NT segment to maximise profit and cash flow.
  • SA branch operations and responsibilities will also form part of the role.
  • Work always to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What we ask for:

  • 5+ years' proven sales management experience in an industrial environment.
  • Proven track record of developing new business opportunities in the Australian region for Industrial applications.
  • Knowledge of industrial battery, Telecoms, UPS, Utility or Solar markets essential. An understanding of the Motion (Motive Power) market well regarded.
  • Degree qualification or relevant industry experience preferred but not essential. Trade qualification (electrical) accepted.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
