  Looking to take the lead on tax strategy in a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation?
  
  We're seeking a Tax Accountant Specialist to play a key role in ensuring Unitywater meets its taxation obligations and maximises compliance under the Local Government Tax Equivalent Regime (LGTER).
  
  In this role, you'll go beyond the numbers, preparing and lodging tax returns, managing payments, and providing trusted tax advisory services that support smart decision-making across the business. As part of our Enterprise Solutions business unit, you'll have the opportunity to influence outcomes, contribute to financial sustainability, and make a real impact in a progressive, future-focused organisation.

  Qualifications & Memberships
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or a related field
  • CPA or CA qualified
    
    
  Technical Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of tax legislation including GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, and LGTER
  • Understanding of AASB 112 Income Taxes and application in government/statutory settings
  • Proven experience managing tax compliance in large, complex organisations
  • Knowledge (or ability to acquire) of the Financial Accountability Act and related standards
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP finance systems
    
    
  Analytical & Communication Skills
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication for preparing complex reports and advice
  • Skilled in presenting financial and tax insights to senior stakeholders
