Needle & Syringe Program - Coordinator at Metro South Health


We are seeking a motivated and experienced Coordinator to lead the Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) at Logan Community Health Centre. This role supports harm minimisation strategies and community health outcomes.


In This Role, You Will
  • Coordinate and maintain NSP services, including the provision of clean equipment, health information, and client support.
  • Supervise and lead a small team to ensure effective, client-focused service delivery.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and protocols to support NSP operations.
  • Build strong partnerships with health providers, community groups, and government/non-government organisations.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience in coordinating community health programs and maintaining accurate records and data systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, addiction and mental health services, policies and systems.

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. It offers medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care. We provide extensive support and training and participate in research through partnerships with Queensland's medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland. By 2027, Logan Hospital expansion will include more beds and birthing suites.
