We are currently seeking aProperty and Construction Lawyer to join our Legal team. This role will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice on property transactions, construction projects, and regulatory compliance, supporting the organisation's continued success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal counsel on property acquisitions, leasing, land development, and real estate transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, development agreements, and procurement documents.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, particularly in the retirement living sector.
  • Advise on risk management and dispute resolution in relation to property and construction matters.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support commercial objectives while mitigating legal risks.
  • Monitor and provide guidance on changes in property, construction, and retirement living laws.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive experience in property law, including acquisitions, leasing, and development.
  • Strong construction law expertise, particularly in contract negotiation and compliance.
  • A background in retirement living law (highly regarded) or experience in related sectors such as aged care, commercial real estate, or large-scale developments.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic legal advice in a corporate environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to legal risk management.
