Make a difference as a Principal Product Designer

Your Role

As a Principal Product Designer in our Retail Insurance Australia Digital team, you'll lead complex initiatives across features and products, using evidence-based design to create experiences that are simple, human and effective. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to shape roadmaps, align on outcomes, and deliver high-quality, user-centred design that's consistent and clear across journeys.

You'll play a key role in building maturity in our craft, mentoring others, and contributing to the growth of our design practice. Whether you're driving interaction design, applying our Chroma design system, or ensuring brand and accessibility standards are met, you'll help set the bar for great design at IAG.

You'll be designing for our Customer Loyalty Platform, embedded in the Loyalty squad while also connecting across Payments and Consent to shape a unified experience for our customers. From digitally focused strategy and service design through to UX and visual design, you'll join the dots to create interactions that feel seamless, consistent, and rewarding at every touchpoint. You know what "good" looks like, and how great loyalty experiences should show up: making customers feel recognised, valued, and eager to return. You'll bring that vision to life across mobile app and responsive web, driving retention through thoughtful design and moments that matter.

This is a 24-month Max Term opportunity with flexibility to be based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane)

About You

• Proven experience designing for loyalty programmes that are intuitive, accessible, and consistent across platforms
• Deep experience designing across the full product lifecycle using industry-standard tools
• A strong foundation in digital design principles including hierarchy, grids, responsive design, Gestalt, colour and typography
• Confidence delivering high-quality UI and interaction design that meets accessibility standards
• The ability to manage and supply development-ready design assets
• Experience applying brand guidelines and design systems at scale
• A clear, thoughtful approach to collaboration, critique and mentoring
• A relevant design or business-related degree (or equivalent experience)
• Planning and running user research and usability testing sessions
• Mapping out user journeys across digital, and occasionally non-digital, touchpoints
• Creating experiences that meet customer expectations, factoring in business goals and technical feasibility
• Collaborating with other designers in the team and actively seeking and providing feedback on designs
