Facility Supervisors

North Queensland Fresh is seeking experienced and motivated Facility Supervisors to oversee the daily operations of their horticultural packing facility. This role is critical in maintaining export-quality fruit handling, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across all processes. Reporting to the Facility Plant Manager, Facility Supervisors will lead packing operations, manage staff, and uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and export compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise fruit inspection, quality control, and packing processes to meet customer and export market specifications.

• Ensure compliance with Interstate Certification Arrangements (ICA 38, ICA 48, CTM-01), CGMMV protocols, and DAFF regulations.

• Monitor hygiene practices, food safety (HACCP, FreshCare), and phytosanitary controls across all stages of production.

• Oversee cleaning and maintenance of machinery and equipment in line with food safety standards.

• Confirm grower certifications are current and maintain product traceability through accurate labelling and documentation.

• Lead and train packing shed staff, ensuring all employees understand their responsibilities and follow operational procedures.

• Conduct staff inductions and enforce WHS, food safety, and company policies.

• Collaborate with growers, marketing, dispatch, and quality control teams to support smooth daily operations.

• Prepare for and attend audits, ensuring documentation and operational standards meet all compliance requirements.

• Monitor stock levels and report any supply issues to management.

• Participate in crisis and recall management activities as required.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• Proven experience in horticulture supervision, packing shed operations, or compliance with export protocols.

• Strong understanding of quality control, pest and disease inspection, and phytosanitary standards.

• Familiarity with DAFF, ICA protocols, and export certification processes.

• Effective leadership and team management skills, with experience in staff training and supervision.

• Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, FreshCare), WHS, and EPA regulations.

• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving ability, and a focus on operational efficiency.
