Responsibilities
  • Help newly arrived young people engage in education, employment & community.

  • Our Reconnect Early Intervention Program helps young people stabilise their living situation and improve their level of engagement with family, work, education, training and their local community.
  • As a Case Worker - reconnect, you will provide individual and family support and case management to stabilise living situations and improve a young person's connection with culture, family and community life.
  • You will use your community connections to undertake outreach and group work, facilitate referrals to specialist services, and advocate for participants, making a tangible impact on their journey toward stability and opportunity.

Benefits
  • Part-time role (0.6 FTE), maximum term to 30 June 2026. Flexible on days, except Tuesday in the office.
  • Base Salary of SCHADS Level 5 + Super, plus 17.5% Leave Loading.

Skills and experience
  • You understand the importance of early intervention case management and the complex challenges faced by newly arrived families of minority communities.
  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, or a related discipline such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Community Services.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in working with disempowered and vulnerable people.
  • Ability to conduct strength-based assessments, develop intervention plans, community outreach and group work.
  • Proven skills in delivering effective case management for young people and families.
  • A current Working with Children Check and Drivers Licence valid in Victoria.
