About EMH
Elizabeth Morgan House Aboriginal Women's Services Inc. (EMH) is a proud Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been delivering specialist family violence services across Victoria since 1976. We provide culturally safe and trauma-informed services to Aboriginal women and children, and our work is grounded in self-determination, advocacy, and community voice.
We operate across multiple sites, including a high-security refuge, therapeutic services, justice programs, and culturally grounded case management support. Our work is built on trust, respect, and deep connections with community.
About the Role
The Relink & Reconnect – Case Manager will be part of EMH's Pre and Post Release Services Team, supporting Aboriginal women and trans and gender diverse people exiting prison. The position works in partnership with Drummond Street Services to deliver wraparound, holistic support focused on healing, empowerment, and reducing recidivism.
You will play a vital role in:
- Developing and implementing culturally responsive transition plans
- Providing intensive case management and support
- Collaborating with internal and external partners, including Corrections Victoria
- Supporting sector capability through co-work, secondary consultation, and reflective practice
- Uplifting the social and emotional wellbeing of our clients through advocacy and culturally grounded support
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, with understanding of cultural protocols, kinship systems, and the unique experiences of Aboriginal women, families and communities
- An understanding of the systemic barriers faced by justice-involved Aboriginal women and trans and gender diverse people
- Experience providing culturally safe, trauma-informed case management and advocacy
- Working knowledge of MARAM, FVISS, CISS frameworks
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites, including in prison settings
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Justice or a related field
- A minimum of three years' experience in the community or justice sector
