Overview

Recent growth and expansion has created an opportunity for the right candidate to join a reputable and well established Northern Rivers, NSW Brick and Blocklaying Construction business.

With a background in construction (Construction Management degree or Trade Qualification preferred but not required) the ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, a drive to develop and implement systems and strategies for a growing business and a good understanding of construction knowledge, pricing, plans and compliance.

You will be responsible for organizing daily operations for a medium - large scale Brick and Blocklaying business in the Northern Rivers working closely with the company director and book keeper to manage 25+ employees and the resources required to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and oversee daily operations including staff scheduling, ordering materials, booking sub contractors and managing deliveries
  • Manage project timelines, budgets and resource allocation
  • Develop and implement workflow schedules and systems
  • Track and log employee hours and project expenditure invoicing and reconciliation with book keeper
  • Manage yard inventory, preparing and loading materials for deliveries
  • Liaise with current and potential clients/builders to ensure smooth project execution
  • Execute contracts and paperwork required for a residential and commercial business
  • Assist managing company compliance and insurances
  • Site visits, measuring and assisting with quoting for builders and clients
  • Staff procurement, screening and management in a human resources capacity
  • Manage company vehicle fleet, including inspections, servicing and registration
  • Occasional days on site required for either deliveries or labour assistance with corefills/concrete pours
  • General office administration tasks including but not limited to problem solving and assisting staff business director however needed

What we're looking for
  • Experience managing a team of 20+ employees across multiple job sites
  • 2+ years experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Xero software (Preferred but not necessary)
  • Trade Qualification or Construction Management Degree (Preferred but not necessary)
  • Medium level computer competency
  • Competency in Apple mac software, mail app and Microsoft Office/Google suite
  • Moderate knowledge of BOQ's/Estimating, Drafting & Design, Sales Operations, and Admin Support functions
  • Car License

  • Forklift License
  • Own 4x4 Ute
  • HR License
