PositionEconomy and Place Coordinator — Byron Shire Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate. The position leads and coordinates the staff and activities of the Economy & Place Team to deliver a high level of service aligned with Council's strategies and policies. The role delivers economic development initiatives and activities that support diverse key industries and the establishment of new sustainable business opportunities. It also supports delivery of place plan initiatives that create inclusive places locals love, where businesses thrive and visitors crave.
Responsibilities- Leading and coordinating the Economy & Place Team to effectively deliver on Operational Plan activities.
- Facilitating the Business Roundtable with local business stakeholders, including Chambers of Commerce and key industries.
- Preparing and delivering economic development, events and tourism plans, projects, and initiatives that support investment attraction; secure new business investment and growth in high-value industries; facilitate sustainable visitor attraction and employment growth opportunities in the Shire.
- Identifying and reporting on barriers and opportunities to economic development and tourism within Byron Shire specifically and the Northern Rivers Region generally.

- Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary in the range of $2,003.14 to $2,320.94 per 35 hour week (dependent upon skills and experience)

This position is based at Mullumbimby; however, Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
