Job Title: Mental Health Lead - Maternity Leave Cover

A mentally healthy environment is paramount to a person's wellbeing. As a leading healthcare provider, we are seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to fill this role.

This opportunity will see you lead a mental health inpatient unit on maternity leave for 12 months. You will be responsible for providing operational direction of the unit, ensuring efficient and effective management.

Your primary focus will be on coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based, ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment.

You will provide guidance, mentoring and support to the team, while being accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources.

In addition, you will undertake direct patient care as required and ensure compliance with ACQSHC National standards.

Requirements:
  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Registered Nurse with at least 5 years' experience in inpatient mental health settings; knowledge of NSQHS/ACHS Standards
  • Understanding of HoNOS
  • Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of labour management
  • Understanding of private health funding requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
