This is a full time fixed-term position through to August 2026 with salary in the range $93,491 - $100,296 (HEW 6), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

The Coordinator, Respectful Relationships and Gender-based Violence Prevention role is central to UQ's commitment to creating a safe and respectful environment. The position involves developing, delivering, and coordinating vital, inclusive education and initiatives for diverse university communities. You will contribute to preventing gender-based violence through evidence and strengths-based approaches covering topics like respectful relationships, consent, and bystander interventions.
Working in collaboration with the values-led and vibrant UQ Respect Team, this role will also involve key actions including educational resource development, workshop design and delivery, campaigns development and community engagement to provide the UQ community the knowledge and tools to build a safer and more gender-equal future for everyone.
Key responsibilities will include:
Training Development and Delivery
Lead the design and delivery of workshops and training sessions for diverse audiences (ie. Staff and students) utilising evidence-based and strengths-based approaches, learning design principles, creativity and storytelling. Advise and support the development of online-based training modules.
Engagement and Event Delivery
Support the UQ Respect team in developing and delivering engaging activities and events. These initiatives create informal learning opportunities focused on respectful relationships, consent, communication, sexuality, boundaries, bodies, and intersectionality.
Resource and Campaign Development
Lead and coordinate the creation of diverse educational resources and campaigns, including print materials and learning materials. Actively consult with staff, students, and the wider community to ensure their voices guide all stages of prevention strategy and implementation.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
Foster, maintain, and strengthen relationships with diverse stakeholders. Organise and create opportunities for training, education, and prevention initiatives across all university units, including faculties, schools, residential accommodations, and student groups.
Coordinate and support key consultative groups such as the UQ Respect Student Advisory Group
Strategic Implementation and Support
Work closely with the UQ Respect team to support the implementation of the University's strong strategic commitment to preventing gender-based violence. This includes contributing to the Sexual Misconduct Strategic Framework and Action Plan , and the broader Action Plan Addressing Gender-based Violence in Higher Education .
Essential
A degree or training in a relevant field (social work, psychology, public health, social sciences, teaching or equivalent) and at least two years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in designing and delivering training on respectful relationships, the prevention of gender-based violence, or related topics.
Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills. This includes the ability to advise and liaise effectively with a wide range of clients and stakeholders, including students, academic and professional staff, and external contacts.
Self-motivated with demonstrated excellent organizational, time management, and creative problem-solving skills. Require the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team to deliver shared outcomes.
This role requires possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a current Blue Card.
Desirable
Knowledge of respectful relationships and sexuality education, gender-based violence prevention, including the relevant legislative landscape in tertiary education.
Experience working with diverse communities and identities (e.g., culturally and linguistically diverse, First Nations, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, men) in relation to respectful relationships and/or gender-based violence prevention or response.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
