We are seeking a Kitchen & Wellbeing Support Worker to help create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment in our mental health day program. The role involves overseeing the smooth running of our Community Meals Program, serving breakfast and lunch (meals are prepared off-site), assisting with dishwashing, managing kitchen operations, supporting participant wellbeing, guiding volunteers, and assisting with program activities alongside mental health support staff.
Responsibilities- Oversee the smooth running of the Community Meals Program and assist with meals service (breakfast and lunch).
- Assist with dishwashing and kitchen operations; ensure cleanliness and food safety.
- Support participant wellbeing, guide volunteers, and assist with program activities alongside mental health support staff.
- Base salary of $27.15 per hour plus casual loading, salary packaging, and superannuation.
- Access to up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits for living expenses.
- 10% discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee when using a Uniting Early Learning service or centre.
- 25% discount at Uniting Op Shops.
- Great location on Carlisle Street, St Kilda, close to public transport.
- Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Food Safety Level 1 (or willingness to obtain).
- Preferred: Certificate II in Hospitality or Kitchen Operations.
- Experience in community, mental health, or support settings.
- Hospitality or kitchen experience.
- Volunteer supervision experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
- Comfortable working with diverse backgrounds.
- Coffee machine use (training available).
- Supportive, inclusive, and recovery-focused approach.
