Overview

CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST IN OLD AGE PSYCHIATRY based at Stratheden Hospital Cupar – Split In-patient and Community Mental Health Service (1 post). Permanent appointment – Full time (10 PAs).

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed clinician to join our dedicated team within NHS Fife, working in old age psychiatry split between community and in-patient service covering West Fife. This is a full time post (10 sessions) with close working relationships with older adult mental health colleagues across NHS Fife.

You must be able to work in a collaborative way with other professionals and agencies. This post is full time; however, consideration will be given to candidates who wish to work flexibly. You will be supported by a cohesive and collegiate group of clinicians, and will participate in CPD and peer supervision. Consultant peer groups meet regularly and there are regular educational events as part of our in-house programme.

We are committed to service improvement and seek an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed individual to lead and manage change. A key focus over the next couple of years will be the development of the non-medical workforce given medical staffing challenges across the United Kingdom. A keen interest in supporting multidisciplinary team colleagues' professional development would be invaluable.

Responsibilities
  • Work in collaboration with other professionals and agencies in both community and in-patient settings.
  • Lead and manage change within the service and contribute to service development and improvement.
  • Support the development of the non-medical workforce and multidisciplinary team professional development.
  • Engage in CPD, peer supervision, and participation in in-house educational events.
Qualifications
  • Fully registered medical practitioner with MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Appropriate Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date.
  • CESR route available for specialist registration; support to pursue CESR is provided.
