Overview

Clinical Coders | St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside. Our location: Located 15 minutes' drive from the Brisbane CBD and near Chermside transport interchange.

We are seeking Clinical Coders to join St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside. The role involves assigning accurate and timely clinical codes to patient episodes of care by analyzing patient records and applying the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), Australian Coding Standards, and relevant State Coding authority guidance. The role includes participation in ongoing training, education sessions, and audits.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately and promptly code patient records using ICD-10-AM.
  • Participate in ongoing training, education sessions, and audits.
  • Contribute to performance and quality improvement activities related to clinical coding.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent, or Clinical Coding qualifications from HIMAA or equivalent.
  • At least two years of clinical coding experience.
  • Experience with 3M Codefinder software.
  • Experience coding across a range of DRGs with high-quality coding skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Clinical Coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards.
  • Willingness to participate in performance and quality improvement activities.
About St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside

Our hospital has 227 beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology Unit, Breast Health Centre, Endoscopy Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24-hour private emergency centre.
