The Role

We are currently seeking candidates with 2+ years' experience as a clinical coder in Australia, with a proven track record of managing a varied casemix - ideally in a tertiary hospital. 

LocationsThe organisation offers full flexibility depending on where you're based and your circumstances. You can work either under a flexible hybrid structure from the nearest hospital or fully remote. Please note that if you do work remotely, you'll need to have your own work from home setup.

Responsibilities

  • Efficient clinical coding across various specialties/hospitals in an assigned state or territory, with strong efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage a varied, interesting and complex casemix
  • Contribute to ongoing training, education and team collaboration
  • Full compliance with current clinical coding guidelines

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience as a clinical coder in Australia
  • Exposure to a diverse and complex casemix, with various specialties - private sector and/or tertiary hospital experience is preferred
  • Proven track record of meeting KPIs, including coding 4-5 medical records per hour and a high level of accuracy (95%+)
  • A comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, current clinical coding guidelines and casemix analysis in Australia
  • Proficiency with different coding systems and medical software
  • Highly developed attention to detail, time management and adaptability to consistent changes in healthcare regulations
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
