The Organisation

Proudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides emergency aeromedical and allied health services for people in rural and remote Australia. We strive towards improving the health and wellbeing of our rural communities and believe in creating opportunities, so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services.

About the Program

Mobile Patient Care (MPC) offers Non-Emergency Patient Transport across Victoria and some areas of New South Wales. We work with a large fleet of ambulances and support our transport services with RFDS aircraft.

MPC provides clinical care for people travelling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital, and hospital to home, as well as transport to and from specialist clinics.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Perform patient assessment and intervention on-road
  2. Provide high-quality patient care and treatment during on-road transport
  3. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients and stakeholders
  4. Assess the effectiveness of interventions in accordance with RFDS MPC guidelines, NEPT regulations, and within scope of practice
  5. Perform independently and problem-solve within policies and procedures
  6. Work collaboratively with team members

To be successful, you will need:

  • Qualifications as a Registered Paramedic or Division 1 Registered Nurse
  • Current AHPRA registration (or pending approval for Paramedics)
  • Ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions

  • Generous penalties and allowances
  • A less stressful environment than emergency/pre-hospital care
  • Supported opportunities to work across different locations in the state
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Access to salary packaging options to reduce taxable income, including for casual employees
