About The Business Unit

The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership, policy setting, and partnership with the department to build capability.

About The Role

The Senior Strategic Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Budget Investment, provides financial and non-financial analytical advice, supports the department's Annual Budget process, contributes to the PAEC and Annual Reporting processes, and may assist in internal performance reporting and departmental projects.

Some Of Your Duties Will Include
  • Supporting the department's internal budget process and investment strategy, including review of business cases and development of government submissions
  • Providing timely, evidence-based, strategic advice to senior management and other key stakeholders to enable decision-making
  • Supporting the development of the non-financial components of the department's Annual Report
  • Contributing to the department's Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC) reporting and hearings obligations
About You

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in public sector policy and financial management
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and research skills with an aptitude for problem solving in the context of financial and budget resource management
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in policy, strategy or finance is desirable
