Finance Manager

About the role

SACA is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team. You will play a key role in building and maintaining a high-performing finance team, aligned with the overall business strategy. This role will also involve significant responsibilities in managing financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring statutory and audit compliance, overseeing risk management, and handling cashflow and investments. Additionally, the role requires active collaboration with Cricket Australia, AOSMA and internal stakeholders to improve financial outcomes and aligned with the SACA's strategic goals.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, delivering strategic business advisory and financial support.
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring timely insights and Board-ready outputs.
Manage the outsourced payroll function and maintain strong relationships with Cricket Australia and other key partners.
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting tools, and internal controls.
Lead risk management processes, including insurance, compliance, and financial governance frameworks.
Oversee cashflow, investments, and funding arrangements, ensuring alignment with policy and performance benchmarks.
Partner across the business and with Cricket Australia to enhance financial outcomes and shared service efficiencies
You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one.

It would also be great if you have...Minimum of five years' experience in managing a finance team and function
Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines in high pressure situations
Strong attention to detail
Experience in risk management
Demonstrated verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to liaise and negotiate with senior management, Board and other stakeholders
Proven ability to build relationships and get the best out of people at all levels
Experience operating and advising at senior management level, including strong presentation skills to senior level representatives
Collaborative work style
The ability to manage high workloads and meet deadlines within specific time frames
Unwavering integrity, authenticity, professionalism and customer focus
The ability to liaise with a diverse range of people
The ability to manage multiple/concurrent projects
Strong computer skills particularly in finance systems, word processing, presentations and spread sheets
Recording and reporting of statutory requirements
Tertiary qualifications in accounting (CPA or CA qualified applicants will be highly favoured)

About SACA

The SACA is one of the nation's premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia's favorite sport - a sport for all Australian's. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.

The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the SA Men's and Women's Teams and Adelaide Strikers women's and men's teams.
