About the opportunity
The Private Consulting Suites is located at the Mercy Hospital for Women. The purpose of this role is to ensure the office area of the Private Consulting Suites runs smoothly to deliver excellent patient-centred customer service, with a high standard of communication (written and verbal) across the PCS and Mercy Health.

  • Log into relevant practice management software, make appointments and manage doctors clinics
  • Meet and greet patients as the first point of contact and handle patient enquiries
  • Answer telephones and direct calls in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Provide administrative support to nominated doctors
  • Issue accounts correctly and process payments and receipts for patients
  • Reconcile daily banking including EFTPOS
  • Maintain stock of medical consumables in consulting rooms and notify staff when stock is required
  • Liaise with internal and external parties (diagnostic services, Medicare, Health Funds) as required, including follow up on outstanding requests and claims
  • Support all team members with opening/closing procedures, daily practice administration and additional duties as requested
  • Exercise confidentiality regarding patient care and all aspects of the PCS
  • It is expected that a new staff member will gain competence over a reasonable period to provide broad office, reception and administrative support
