This position qualifies for the NSW Health Rural Incentive scheme with a value of up to $5,000.
Responsibilities- Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI) Senior Clinicians will provide trauma informed, culturally safe, intensive therapeutic interventions and integrated psychosocial responses to young people experiencing complex and severe mental health concerns.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to ensure the delivery of strengths based and recovery orientated mental health care and treatment.
- Work as part of the local specialist Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) Community Mental Health teams, with time co-located within the headspace centres.
- Collaborate with partner agencies, develop streamlined referral pathways and ensure timely transition of care between partner services.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for Social Workers. Significant clinical experience in child and youth mental health is highly desirable.
- Extensive postgraduate clinical experience and knowledge in evidence-based mental health assessment and treatment for young people and their carers; understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Ability to apply advanced reasoning and independent professional judgement to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a multidisciplinary team; strong interpersonal and communication skills; competency with information technology systems.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes; lead ongoing quality improvement activities with staff.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision and support to staff and students.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence and ability to travel as required, including potential overnight stays.
