Overview

Director - Australia at Amida Recruitment Ltd. A market leading Tier 2 contractor with an established, multi-state presence in Defence, Industrial and Commercial sectors. The role is a 6 month contract with potential to extend or go permanent for the right candidate. The project is a $10m Defence new build, with a Project Engineer and Site Manager supporting delivery. Projects in the business are generally Industrial, Defence or Commercial in nature.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team in Sydney. The Project Manager will need strong commercial acumen, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming/planning experience, and the ability to lead meetings with consultants and subcontractors to deliver high-quality service that meets and exceeds client expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to the team
  • Deliver projects from inception through to completion
  • Ensure construction programmes are followed and deliver project quality to programme
  • Identify and manage construction risk; escalate issues as required
  • Manage project expenditure and cash flow
  • Manage external engineering design aspects of projects
  • Design management
  • Manage subcontractors on site
  • Maintain HSEQ requirements on the project
  • Produce progress reports
  • Deliver and manage client expectations
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
  • Minimum 5–15 years' experience delivering projects from start to finish, ideally from a Tier 1 or 2 background
  • Proven leadership ability in building and motivating teams to deliver high-quality projects
  • Experience delivering greenfield projects
  • Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements/standards
  • Strong planning and project financial reporting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Construction Safety Induction (white) card
