The School

Harrisdale Senior High School (SHS) is one of the largest schools in Western Australia, attracting students from diverse geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. With a student population of over 2300, approximately 180 teaching staff, and 70 support staff, the school offers an inclusive and comprehensive education for Years 7 to 12. It is the school of choice for many local and international families.

The Role

Harrisdale SHS is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science teacher with a strong focus on Biological Science to join our high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving and growing school community that values academic excellence, scientific curiosity, and student engagement.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience teaching Senior School ATAR Biology, with experience in ATAR Human Biology also regarded favourably. We are looking for an educator with a deep understanding of effective science pedagogy and the ability to deliver engaging, conceptually rich lessons that inspire students to excel.

We are looking for a dynamic educator who ideally:

  • Is confident in delivering curriculum that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the biological sciences;
  • Can inspire students through inclusive, student-centred learning experiences;
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment;
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the school's values of Care, Respect, Responsibility, and Excellence;
  • Is willing to contribute to pastoral care and co-curricular programmes that enrich student life and strengthen school culture.
