Role: Senior DevOps Engineer

The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key role in the continuous delivery and lifecycle management of software applications. They will automate processes, optimise systems and ensure reliability and security of production environments with the software development teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with the DevOps Lead to develop proposals and strategies
• Identify automation needs across development teams and implement optimisation/automation
• Research and apply best-practice solutions that align with program needs
• Collaborate and implement DevOps principles within squads
• Identify security solutions and propose architectural changes to enhance systems
• Champion and implement new initiatives to improve cloud infrastructure
• Manage and maintain 100+ AWS instances across 50+ VPCs globally
• Manage a global fleet of tens of thousands of Linux-powered IoT devices
• Monitor systems and respond to alerts to ensure uptime
• Analyse current business processes and identify improvements for products
• Develop documentation to support DevOps activities

Qualifications

• Min 3–5 years experience in software development or platform engineering
• Experience in Agile methodology
• Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation, Terraform or AWS CDK (at least one)
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, Lambda, SQS)
• Solid understanding of serverless and containerized workloads
• Linux system and network administration (Ubuntu) desirable
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible) desirable
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Sumo Logic, AWS CloudWatch)
• Understanding of modern software architectures (distributed/microservices)
