Job Summary:
Our client who operates a group of luxury hotels is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholsterer to join their luxury estate team, for pone of their residential complex. The ideal candidate will be responsible for upholstering, repairing, and maintaining high-end furniture and fabric furnishings throughout the property. This role requires craftsmanship, precision, and a keen eye for quality to uphold the estate's elegant and refined standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Upholster, reupholster, and repair furniture including sofas, chairs, headboards, and ottomans using high-quality materials.
- Maintain and restore upholstery in guest areas, lounges, private rooms, and event spaces to ensure consistent aesthetic appeal.
- Inspect furnishings regularly and identify pieces requiring attention.
- Replace padding, springs, webbing, zippers, and fabric coverings as needed.
- Collaborate with interior designers, housekeeping, and maintenance teams to align upholstery with the estate's decor and seasonal themes.
- Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials in line with luxury standards.
- Maintain upholstery workshop/tools and ensure work is done safely, neatly, and on schedule.
- Handle antique or bespoke items with exceptional care and professionalism.
- Assist in fabric-based installations such as curtains, cushions, or fabric wall panels when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an upholsterer, preferably in luxury hospitality, estates, or in a residential complex or custom furniture.
- Strong understanding of upholstery techniques, fabrics, materials, and tools.
- Ability to work with a variety of materials including leather, velvet, silk, and designer fabrics.
- High level of attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift and maneuver large furniture.
- Professional appearance and discretion in private or guest environments.
Preferred:
- Formal training or certification in upholstery or furniture restoration.
- Experience working in a 4-star hotel, luxury villa, or high-end residential estate.
