Support Worker - Catering & Laundry - Casual Position

About The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the Chef / Chef Manager and peers in delivering a high quality catering service within the home. The Support Worker – Laundry will support the delivery of a safe and clean laundry service for residents in alignment with appropriate standards.

Catering

• Ensuring the catering service is adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirements
• Completing all appropriate food safety record forms as per legislation requirements
• Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the Food Safety Program at all times
• Wearing uniforms, appropriate protective clothing and footwear whilst in the workplace
• Following strategies in the Food Safety Plan to prevent cross contamination
• Preparing daily meals including beverages for residents that meet the special dietary requirements as instructed by the Chef Manager or Chef/Cook

Laundry

• Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness
• Collect, sort, wash, dry, sort and distribute clothing and linen as per laundry instructions
• Ensure adequate stocks of clean linen, towels and laundry skip bags are available in the designated storage areas in the home

What you bring

• Follow Basic Food Safety Practices Certificate (Health Care Competencies)
• Experience in a similar role in residential care, health care or hospitality sectors
• Knowledge and experience in safe food handling
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
• Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling (desirable)
• Commercial laundry experience (desirable)
• Experience in Aged Care (desirable)
