Base pay range

A$1,000.00/daily - A$1,200.00/daily

The Opportunity

This 12-month contract offers the chance to be the hands-on lead for SAP S/4HANA (HCM) Payroll (H4S4). You\'ll take ownership of design, configuration, and continuous optimisation, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance across a complex landscape. Working closely with HR, Finance, and IT, you\'ll deliver robust payroll solutions that integrate seamlessly with Finance and HR/time systems. This role is highly technical and requires strong functional expertise in SAP Payroll configuration.

The Role

As the Functional Payroll Consultant, you\'ll be responsible for end-to-end technical delivery and configuration of SAP H4S4 Payroll. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading discovery and blueprinting workshops with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT.
  • Hands-on configuration of schemas, PCRs, wage types, infotypes, retro-calculation logic, off-cycle and year-end processing.
  • Designing and supporting integrations with ECECP, time/benefits systems, and Finance postings.
  • Defining and executing data migration, parallel-run, reconciliation, and cutover plans.
  • Establishing defect triage processes, testing frameworks (unit, SIT, UAT), and audit-ready documentation.
  • Providing steady-state support including payroll cycle monitoring, exception handling, and legislative/tax updates.
About You

You are a technical SAP Payroll expert with proven ability to deliver solutions in complex consulting environments. To be successful, you\'ll bring:

  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP HCM Payroll on S/4HANA (H4S4).
  • Hands-on expertise in schemas, PCRs, wage types, and payroll rules.
  • Strong consulting background, facilitating discovery, fit-gap analysis, and solution design.
  • Experience working across diverse payroll landscapes, including compliance with local variations.
  • Practical payroll administration knowledge (end-to-end cycles & reconciliations).
  • Integration skills across ECECP, CPI, IDoc/web services, and Finance postings.
  • Strong discipline in testing, cutover, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Initial 18 month contract, with scope for extension
  • Hybrid working with 3-4 days per week in office
  • Be part of a major SAP transformation
