Head of Medical Strategy Field&Ops Neuro

Head of Medical Strategy, Field & Operations Neuro – Australia. We are looking for a medical strategy leader to join UCB in Australia and provide medical and scientific leadership for the Patient Value Unit (PVU) and oversee Medical Information operations for the affiliate.

About The Role: Provides medical and scientific leadership and oversight for the PVU and oversees the operations of the Medical Information function for the affiliate. The medical head is the internal expert for a specific therapy area in a UCB affiliate local operating company medical department. He/she provides the medical voice and actions as the counterpart to the commercial brand team. The Medical Strategy Head provides coaching and training for the Medical Team, including Medical Science Liaisons. The medical Head also participates in the operational provision of general medical affairs activities where applicable.

• Active member of the PVU Leadership Team with overall responsibility for management of the Medical Team within the PVU, including development plans for these team members.
• First line manager of the Field Medical Lead (FML); collaborate to build capabilities and therapy knowledge of the MSL team.
• Develop the PVU Medical Strategy (with the PVU Leadership Team) and lead in-field implementation via the MSLs.
• Oversee overseas developments, adaptation, and implementation of materials and educational programs to advance UCB's medical and scientific agenda; review and approve specified promotional and non-promotional materials.
• Manage OPEX budget associated with medical program development and execution.
• Provide medical and scientific guidance as part of the PVU Leadership Team and approve all UCB activities.
• Lead local Integrated Scientific Evidence Generation Plans with local Medical and APEX functions.
• Assess feasibility and strategic alignment of unsolicited investigator initiated studies (IIS) and facilitate submission into global review committees.
• Identify unmet needs to develop an RWE strategic plan aligned with internal objectives and external stakeholder needs; lead analysis of outcomes to build value for UCB and patients.
• Lead the local publication plan and ensure implementation.
• Collaborate with Ecosystem Leads to design and provide training and mentoring for field-based HCP-Partners to ensure necessary scientific knowledge and skills.
• Represent country in discussions with regional Connector and Global teams involving clinical research projects.
• Work with internal/external stakeholders to identify opportunities for UCB to contribute to patient value.
• Take proactive steps to ensure patients receiving a UCB product have the best possible experience.
• Lead Medical Information function to ensure high-quality, timely responses and log all inquiries in the internal system.

• Minimum 7 years' experience in a Medical function (e.g., Medical Science Liaison, Medical Advisor) in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in neurology preferred; graduate degree in life sciences, pharmacy or medicine will be considered.
