Inland Rail Pty Ltd is delivering a 1,600km freight line that is transforming how goods are moved around Australia. When fully operational, Inland Rail will connect Melbourne to Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. As one of the largest infrastructure projects in Australia, Inland Rail is helping to address the nation's future freight needs and meet the demands of our growing population.

Delivering Inland Rail will help shift more goods onto rail which means safer, less congested roads and fewer emissions and a more resilient and sustainable national freight network.

About the opportunity

We\'re looking for a Senior Visual Designer to deliver high impact, strategically aligned design work at one of Australia\'s most transformative infrastructure projects. From motion graphics and video to maps, print, and digital experiences, you\'ll bring complex ideas to life and help continue to evolve a brand that\'s connecting communities across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑impact, strategically aligned design across campaigns, print, social media, video, UX, animation, and digital experiences.
  • Translate complex information into engaging visual content, including motion graphics, video and infographics.
  • Elevate Inland Rail\'s visual identity through innovative design while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to produce cohesive, high‑quality creative assets.
  • Present design concepts to clients, clearly articulating the value of design in solving business challenges.
  • Stay ahead of emerging design trends and technologies, integrating them to enhance creative output.
  • Use AI‑approved tools and project management platforms (e.g. Monday.com) to streamline workflows and ensure timely delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable templates and design systems that support brand integrity and efficiency (Canva).
  • Manage and allocate design tasks and timelines using project management tools (e.g. Monday.com), ensuring on‑time delivery of creative assets across all platforms.
  • Ensure all design assets meet accessibility standards and comply with best practices for web and print, delivering inclusive and high‑quality creative across all formats.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in senior‑level brand design roles (in‑house or agency experience), ideally within high‑growth or agile organisations.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or related field.
  • A portfolio showcasing strategic, conceptual campaign thinking across print, digital, motion graphics and video (please include with your application).
  • Proven experience managing creative briefs and art direction while delivering end‑to‑end brand and design projects.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to simplify complex ideas.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Canva.
  • Experience with project management tools (preferably Monday.com).
  • Familiarity with AI‑enhanced design tools and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, agile environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality, brand‑aligned creative.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
  • Email platform template creation (Vision 6 or similar).
  • UI/UX design for SharePoint.
