Springfield Central State High School invites applications for this key leadership role as Head of Department - Senior Schooling Pathways.

You will drive senior student engagement and achievement across Years 10 to 12, supporting staff to deliver diverse, high-quality learning and post-school pathways, including university, vocational education, and employment.

You will build strong partnerships with students, families, and the wider community to ensure every learner is equipped to succeed.

This is a temporary full-time position to commence from 6 Octboer 2025 until 12 December 2025, with possibility of extension, unless otherwise determined.

Your opportunity

As Head Of Department - Senior Schooling Pathways, You Lead Targeted Initiatives To Improve Outcomes For Students In The Senior Phase Of Learning. You

  • Strengthen partnerships with industry to ensure every learner is equipped and encouraged to succeed.
  • Line manage VET delivery and the Industry Liaison Officer, overseeing engagement in vocational pathways.
  • Monitor student progression from SET Planning to Year 13 outcomes in partnership with Deputy Principals (Years 10-12).
  • Track attendance, working with year-level teams to maximise engagement, achievement, and continuity.
  • Analyse data to identify at-risk students and implement targeted interventions.
  • Monitor behaviour data for senior students, responding to trends and supporting case-managed students.
  • Support behaviour management, including student goal setting and referrals to the Wellbeing Team and support staff.
  • Champion a school-wide culture of learning and engagement focused on delivering quality outcomes for every student.
