National Operations Manager – Facilities Management | Melbourne-Based

Knight Facilities Management (KFM) is seeking a driven and strategic National Operations Manager to oversee our growing portfolio and lead high-performing teams to operational excellence. About The Role

As National Operations Manager, you will lead the delivery of integrated FM services across a diverse and high-profile contract base. You will play a critical role in enhancing operational performance, financial outcomes, and team capability, while ensuring that contract requirements and client expectations are met or exceeded.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Overseeing contract performance, financials, and compliance
• Coaching and developing Contract Managers, Account Managers, and Facilities Managers
• Leading client engagement, business development, and service innovation
• Ensuring SEQ (Safety, Environment & Quality) compliance and promoting a strong safety culture
• Delivering operational excellence through strategic leadership and team empowerment
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & SEQ Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture through audits, training, inspections, and compliance leadership.
• Customer & Service Delivery: Drive contract success, client satisfaction, and service excellence across FM, minor works, and spot jobs.
• Financial Management: Lead P&L oversight, manage budgets, monitor forecasts, and identify opportunities to improve cost-efficiency and contract profitability.
• Business Development: Identify and support organic growth opportunities within existing accounts through strong partnerships and solution-driven thinking.
• Operational Leadership: Develop and lead a high-performing team through coaching, succession planning, and structured performance management.
  
  

What You'll Bring

Qualifications & Industry Experience

• Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, or related discipline (required)
• Technical qualifications and minimum 5 years' experience in facilities management
• Proven success in managing complex, multi-site FM portfolios
• Strong background in transitioning and mobilising Integrated FM contracts
• Advanced MS Office and FM systems proficiency
  
  

Leadership & Commercial Skills

• Strategic and analytical leadership capability
• Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, client negotiation, and performance coaching
• Ability to drive contract performance and achieve growth outcomes
