What you'll be doing

As the Project Officer, Research Development & Grants, you will play a vital role in supporting and advancing research activity across the Cancer Institute and the cancer research sector. You will lead and coordinate initiatives that build research capability, strengthen governance, and foster collaboration across teams, programs, and external partners.

Your Work Will Include
  • Leading the coordination and delivery of internal and external research capacity building activities that engage the research community and promote knowledge sharing
  • Managing and supporting the Institute's Internship Program, contributing to the development of future workforce capacity
  • Maintaining and enhancing internal research systems and platforms to enable seamless access to information and tools
  • Supporting grant administration, as required

You will collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the Institute and research sector to support research development activities across the state.

In Addition To Base Salary
  • 12% superannuation
  • 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)
  • 10 days sick leave
  • 40 hours per week which include accrual of monthly Allocated Day Off (ADO) x 12 per year.

Essential Requirements
  • Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualification in an appropriate discipline such as health, public health, or health promotion, or equivalent relevant professional experience and training
  • Understanding of the NSW and/or federal health system, including relevant trends, issues, policies, and practices
  • Demonstrated experience leading research development activities, including the development, implementation, and governance of organisation-wide initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders to achieve project and organisational objectives
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to apply project management principles and techniques effectively to deliver complex projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead and coordinate new research initiatives across the organisation, driving innovation and fostering a collaborative research environment
