Bringing together deep sector expertise and program delivery capability, the team plays a vital role in building governance capacity across a broad spectrum of communities, ensuring diverse voices are supported, empowered, and heard.

About the role

As the Scholarships and Grants Program Officer, you will provide seamless operational support to AICD's scholarships, grants, and sector initiatives. This role will manage the full scholarships and grants lifecycle, as well as sector programs - from writing proposals and securing funding, to administering, reporting, and evaluating outcomes.

  • Act as the first point of contact for applicants, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Coordinate the design, promotion, delivery, and evaluation of key sector initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, payments, and acquittals to ensure strong financial compliance across programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and systems, including databases, CRM entries, and contract documentation.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders, aligning program objectives with partnership goals.
  • Champion scholar and partner experience through onboarding, communication, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor timelines and milestones, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and to a high standard.
  • Contribute to strategy and improvement initiatives that enhance the impact of AICD's scholarships and grants portfolio.

About you

You will have strong technical aptitude and previous relevant experience, and you will champion the AICD "OneTeam" approach and values of: Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Collaboration. In addition, you will also have the following:

  • 3+ years' experience in administering scholarships, grants, or funding programs, preferably within an education, not-for-profit or government setting
  • Proven success in developing grant proposals and securing significant funding ($300k+)
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience in financial administration and managing budgets, including payments, acquittals, and compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting proposals, reports, or program materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data, documentation, and reporting.
  • A proactive, organised approach with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and cultural awareness, especially when working with diverse communities.
