Area Manager - Inclusive Employment Australia, Lower Hunter. The Salvation Army, in partnership with Employment Plus, is building a new Inclusive Employment Australia team in the Hunter and Lower Hunter areas. This role provides leadership within a mission-driven environment focused on delivering high-quality employment support for Australians with disability, injury or illness. You will be part of a respected not-for-profit organisation offering flexible hours and opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities- Provide impactful leadership aligned to Salvation Army values, mission and strategic plans.
- Empower team performance and productivity, ensuring the team delivers commercial returns in line with operational plans and supports a diverse group of participants to achieve employment aligned with their goals and circumstances.
- Oversee multiple sites across the region with travel to ensure locations are well-supported.
- Maintain a deep understanding of local caseloads, employment and social trends; build relationships with key employers, services, schools, training providers and across local Salvation Army services.
- Adapt servicing to local requirements and circumstances; innovate service approaches within a framework of evidence-based decision making where the voice of participants and employers is paramount.
- Ensure compliance with National Standards for Disability, ISO accreditation and other quality initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Enable each team member to develop their skills through training, coaching and oversight.
- Participate in performance appraisals and foster effective communication to enhance staff retention, development, feedback and recognition.
- Adhere to OH&S policies, understand and apply Deed and guideline requirements, and stay updated with contractual changes to guarantee top-quality service.
- Tertiary qualifications in areas such as Employment Services, Community Services or other relevant areas are desirable.
- Experience leading or delivering an employment or other relevant support service, including advanced barrier management, reverse marketing, placement of candidates into employment and post-placement support and verification.
- Experience in day-to-day management and coordination of effective teams.
- Ability to overcome objections and break down barriers for people living with a disability.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in achieving and exceeding business targets and KPIs.
- Must hold a Driver's license as travel throughout the region will be required.
