Deswik is a global team of 470+ mining professionals, software developers, and mathematicians delivering cutting-edge technology across the mine planning value chain. As the Cybersecurity Architect, you will join our growing architecture practice and lead the development of secure, high-performance solutions across our product suite. This is a strategic role embedded within our software department, reporting to the Head of Information Technology. You'll enjoy working at Deswik if you're passionate about cybersecurity, cloud architecture, and making a real impact through innovative mining technology.
What You'll Do- Collaborate with software and IT teams to embed security into design, development, and delivery.
- Lead the design and implementation of security controls across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and security reviews for new and existing systems.
- Define and enforce security architecture principles, standards, and policies.
- Champion secure development practices (DevSecOps, SDLC) and mentor technical teams.
- Evaluate and recommend security technologies (e.g., SIEM, EDR, Zero Trust frameworks).
- Translate security strategy into actionable architecture and reusable design patterns.
- Support incident response and forensic investigations as a subject matter expert.
- Stay ahead of emerging threats and proactively strengthen Deswik's security posture.
- 7+ years in cybersecurity roles, including 2+ years in security architecture or senior engineering.
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, or CISM are highly desirable.
- Deep expertise in cloud security (AWS/Azure), identity and access management, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST).
- Experience with secure development practices and DevSecOps.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and business teams.
