The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals New South Wales (RSPCA NSW) is a not-for-profit animal welfare organisation. RSPCA NSW is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with approximately 500 staff across NSW to care for animals.

Position Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to acquire, increase, and retain funding from the corporate sector, in accordance with the Philanthropy Annual Plan.

Focusing on acquiring and maintaining relationships, stewarding corporate contacts, and delivering corporate experiences, this position will grow the RSPCA NSW network of new cash and in-kind partners and sponsors.

In-kind support will be obtained via prospecting, targeted solicitation, building and maintaining corporate relationships at a national and state level.

This position plays an integral role in ensuring the organisation has the funding it needs to continue preventing cruelty to animals and be financially sustainable, in accordance with the RSPCA NSW Strategic Plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a corporate experience program, with the intent to secure potential cash sponsors.
  • Including: hosting company's onsite, training and managing volunteers who assist with carrying out corporate experience days onsite, coordinating with key onsite personnel in the shelter and clinic to ensure hands-on activities are prepared for corporate experience days, managing bookings for companies wishing to participate in corporate experience days
  • Work with other departments to identify potential in-kind partnership opportunities that are mutually beneficial between the internal stakeholders, the philanthropy team, and the corporate partner
  • Secure new partnerships through targeted solicitation
  • Acquire and maintain relationships with corporates (annual giving of up to $5,000). Be the point person for all their enquiries relating to RSPCA NSW
  • Regularly clean donor and business data to maintain data hygiene and record accuracy.
  • Respond to business enquiries through group inboxes
  • Maintain an accurate cataloguing of all supporter interactions in CRM, including processing and receipting gifts as appropriate
  • Coordinate in-kind distribution
  • Execute bespoke relationship management and cultivation plans for corporate contacts.
  • Field incoming charitable offers and requests from corporates.
  • Have a strong understanding of the RSPCA brand, worth, and values.
  • Develop prospectuses for in-kind partnership acquisition.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Philanthropy to meet goals set out in the operational plan 'Philanthropy Annual Plan'.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Philanthropy Specialist and other Philanthropy team members to deliver activities in the 'Philanthropy Annual Plan'.
  • Adherence to organisational prospect vetting procedures.
  • Regular reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in relevant RSPCA corporate events and functions.
  • Build positive, cohesive relationships with colleagues inside and outside the fundraising department.
  • Attention to detail: language, messaging, grammar, etc. in written text, data input, and record maintenance, and other duties.
  • Comply with all RSPCA NSW policies and procedures, as implemented, varied or replaced from time to time.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a relevant area (desired)

Experience:

  • Minimum two years' experience in not-for-profit
  • Minimum two years' experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, or equivalent.
  • Project management.
  • CRM – Salesforce is advantageous.
  • Experience in relationship management.
  • Developing proposals, presentations, and pitches.
  • Analysis and reporting.

Skills:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 15kg and work comfortably in a lively, busy environment.
  • Experience handling dogs (especially those over 25kg), cats, and rabbits.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Established interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analysis, problem-solving, and creative skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, time management, and expectation management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Confident speaker and advocate in a corporate setting.
