About The Role

Our Federal Government Client is seeking two APS5 or APS6 Test Automation Engineers. This is a fixed-term / non-ongoing role from September 2025 to June 2026 (9-month term), with possible extension options, located anywhere in Australia with a hybrid working arrangement.

As The Selected Candidate, You Will

  • Undertake test automation projects in collaboration with key stakeholders, vendor representatives and other IT teams/experts
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of test automation strategies and plans
  • Develop test scripts and execute/trigger test cases according to strategy and timeframes
  • Analyse and review test automation results, update tests as needed, and report progress, risks, and anomalies
  • Collaborate closely with vendors and technical teams to resolve testing issues efficiently
  • Undertake manual testing when appropriate

To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) automated testing frameworks
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript

It Is Desirable If You Have
  • Experience automating tests for AWS-hosted applications
  • Experience triggering automated tests in CI environments such as GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience using Microsoft Playwright for GUI testing of web applications

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance.
